 Искусственно сконструированный показатель, который служит операционныым ориентиром курсовой политики Центрального банка России. Введен 1 февраля 2005 г. для определения реального курса рубля по отношению к основным валютам: доллару и евро вместе. При этом соотношение между включенными в корзину валютами может быть разным. Например, можно сконструировать условную единицу из 0,1 евро и 0,9 доллара США (так было несколько лет), а можно — из 0,45 евро и 0,55 доллара США (так в настоящее время). Стоимость бивалютной корзины складывается следующим образом: 0,45 ? курс евро ЦБ + 0,55 ? курс доллара ЦБ = стоимость корзины в рублях. Бивалютная корзина позволяет удерживать сбалансированный курс рубля, сдерживающий инфляцию и в то же время препятствующий его резкому подорожанию. Ее стоимость может колебаться в связи с колебаниями мирового финансового рынка, но в пределах, устанавливаемых валютным коридором. Дело в том, что при всем положительном значении укрепления национальной валюты, оно может давать и обратный эффект: при сильном ее удорожании экспортные товары вырастут в цене, в результате чего может уменьшиться объем экспорта, приток денежных средств, размер поступлений в бюджет.
